Manhattan, New York City.
Arriving in Manhattan and seeing the famous landscape is always exciting!
The silhouette of the buildings on the sky makes you immediately think about how awesome would be to live there. In a city where art is everywhere, the lights are so bright, the buildings so tall, the streets so busy — everything is happening in NYC.
When you go back to reality though, you notice how this will never happen. With an average salary you would probably find yourself living in a tiny apartment in a dodgy area — no parties or taxis, but just a dirty and smelly subway surrounded by homeless and the maximum you could afford would be 50% off ALDO (which is still good to me!). Oh yes! “New York I love you but you’re bringing me down”, as LCD Soundsystem used to sing.
Yes, maybe it’s “Hard to live in the city”, by Albert Hammond Jr, but when you walk along the straight street observing the people, the crazy architecture, finding all kinds of art, shops, markets and food; when you loose yourself between lights, smoke, cabs and noises…
New York is just New York and there are no other words to describe it’s awesomeness.
